Campfire Nachos

Campfire Nachos are a delicious and easy-to-make campfire snack that's perfect for sharing with friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors. These nachos are loaded with cheese, veggies, and all your favorite toppings, making them a crowd-pleaser around the campfire.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeos
  • 1/2 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup canned corn kernels, drained
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

Instructions:

Build a campfire first, and let it burn until it reaches hot coals

On a level surface close to the campfire, set a heavy-duty aluminum foil packet or a cast-iron skillet

Evenly distribute a layer of tortilla chips throughout the foil packet or skillet

Over the chips, scatter half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese

As the next layer, add half of the diced tomatoes, red onions, jalapeos, black beans, and corn

With the remaining chips, cheese, and toppings, repeat the layering procedure

If your skillet has a lid, use it; otherwise, carefully cover it with aluminum foil, leaving a small vent for steam to escape

After the skillet is placed over hot coals in the campfire, cook for ten to fifteen minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and melted

Using oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves, carefully remove the skillet from the flames

Top the warm, melted nachos with sliced black olives, sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro

Enjoy your nachos by the campfire right away!
